Al-Futtaim Bodycote Testing LLC, a joint venture between Al-Futtaim Group, the leading UAE business conglomerate, and Bodycote Testing Group UK, the world's largest supplier of testing and thermal processing services, recently announced the opening of the largest multi-disciplined independent commercial testing centre in the Middle East. Located at Dubai Investments Park, the new facility was opened by Mr. Khalid Al-Futtaim, on behalf of Al-Futtaim Group and Mr. Gerry Higgins, Managing Director for Bodycote Testing Group.

Al-Futtaim Bodycote will gradually move all its operations from the existing 1000 square metre laboratory in Ras Al Khor to the new purpose-built 2,600 square metre flagship facility at Dubai Investments Park. The new central testing centre will help improve capacity, scope and improve turnaround time in addition to providing new services to clients, which include metallurgy testing, expanding the scope of civil engineering testing, chemical analysis, environmental monitoring services and cladding testing among others.

The new facility provides the latest in testing technology including Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP), ICP - Mass Spectrometer (ICP - MS), Gas Chromatography (GC), GC - Mass Spectrometry and Atomic Absorption (AA) for chemical analytical work. The facility has been constructed with environmentally controlled specialist testing laboratories, and dedicated cold stores for degradable-sample handling and storage. The civil engineering testing department offers capacity for up to 100 water penetration tests on concrete simultaneously,
